New York, NY- The New York Knicks, who took a with big hit with the injuries with the loss of Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire, got a 24 point night from JR Smith to cruise to a 113-84 win over the visiting Utah Jazz. Anthony, who was a game time decision, was scratched from the line up for the third straight game along with the biggest injury news of the day, Amare Stoudemire, who will miss 6 weeks due to a need of a knee injury to remove debris.
The Knicks had a balanced attack which featured 6 players in double figures, led by Smith’s 24. This game was never close as the lead got to 30 midway thru the 3rd quarter. The Knick continued their season long habit of hoisting up 3 pointers, as they went 13 for 32 behind the arc.
The Knicks are in a battle for the 2 seed with the Indiana Pacers and now come to a tough stretch of games without two of their best scorers. The start their west coast trip on Monday when they face the Golden State Warriors in Oakland.
