New York, NY – I’ll get right to it, this would make very logical sense for the Philadelphia Eagles. With the impending departure of the overhyped, underachieving, overpaid Nnamdi Asomugha, the Eagles may decide the role the dice in exchange for a few draft pick in order to obtain Darrelle Revis’s services. According to several reports, the main thing complicating any deal is the fact that Revis will be returning from an ACL injury that sidelined him for the season. The Eagles GM, Howie Roseman, is said to be seriously trying to make a pitch at the Jets for Revis.
Revis is due a $1 million roster bonus that is due to him come March 16th. This doesn’t appear to be the stop gap of whether he is traded or not, but some league executives think that anything is possible. Revis’s camp has been reported to have been pushing for a deal as soon as possible. One reason may be because with free agency arriving that the market could move quickly rather than wait to see if the Jets are actually willing to trade the Pro Bowl corner.
Truth is, at $10-$12 million per year, it maybe difficult for any team to makes committment to any player coming off such an injury. However, Revis, may be a once in a lifetime player. We may have already seen Revis in his last game as a Jet.
