New York, NY- Welcome to Jets Rhetoric where the staff talks about all relevant and irrelevant things about the New York Jets. Here is the latest rant about the Jets:
5 reasons why Mark Sanchez will be the Jets starting quarterback in 2013
5. There aren’t any options on the free agent market
Yes we can talk about Tim Tebow, David Garrard or perhaps a college kid like Matt Barkley. But let’s be real, which one of those guys is going to save Rex Ryan’s job? Thank you, no of them, next!!!
4. There is a Love Triangle
Yeah I said it! Here it’s goes. Woody loves Rex. Rex loves Sanchez. And because Rex loves Sanchez and Woody doesn’t want to admit that the Rex Ryan Circus has run its course, he endorses all of Rex’s moves outside of Tim Tebow (which Rex clearly wanted no parts of).
And, yes I have just predicted that Rex will get fired because of this too.
3. The Scapegoat Theory
So if the Jets absolutely stink this year based off there quarterback play and not their defense, there is an outside chance that Rex can salvage his job. Doubt it, but it is a good way to find a scapegoat in the Jets shortcomings.
This is pretty self explanatory. The Jets know that they can’t just give Sanchez his walking papers and it wouldn’t make much business sense to let him go and hurt your cap number.
1. Bigger things to come?
Let’s face it, the Jets aren’t going anywhere. Why not just let the Sanchez well run dry along with the Rex Ryan circus and start over in 2014? That makes more business sense. So sorry Jet fans you have one more year that may include brown paper masks.
