Atlanta, GA- It seems we’ve been “Brett Favred” again. In what seems to be a new trend of players not wanting to look forward to those social security checks, another player has denounced his retirement. As reported earlier today, it appears that former Baltimore Raven Ed Reed does not want to hang up his cleats. He must have sent a smoke signal to Tony Gonzalez, who has told the Atlanta Falcons that he will strap it up one mo’ gin’ this season….pause. According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Gonzalez wants one more shot at a title.
Gonzalez is hands down a first ballot Hall of Famer, who has not slowed in production due to his age. This comes as a large relief to Matt Ryan and head coach Mike Smith. It was said that Gonzalez would pursue a TV deal but since then has opted to strap up his helmet for at least one more time in his illustrious career.
