New York, NY – Welcome to Knicks Nuggets. The origin of the name is synonymous to where the New York Knicks got their prized and iconic player, Carmelo Anthony. This is where the staff talks about relevant and irrelevant things about the New York Knicks. Here is the latest rant about the Knicks:
Fresh off the Knicks blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors we present to you:
5 reasons why the Knicks were never that good this season
As is the customary nature is for the New York Knicks every off season, the Knicks continued to recruit players from retirement homes all across the nation. Marcus Camby (38), Kenyon Martin (35), Jason Kidd (39, although he looks like he’s 50), Kurt Thomas (40), Rasheed Wallace (38) and rookie Pablo Prigioni (35) make up the Knicks all “Depends” team.
4. Mike Woodson
Let’s face it Knicks fans the only reason why he was kept after last year is because Phil Jackson had an outrageous amount of demands in order to become the new Knick coach. Between the Just for Men that Woodson uses on his goatee and the decent, and I do mean decent, job that Woodson did after taking over for Mike D’Antoni, there weren’t many options.
3. The World Revolves Around Melo
Now I know I am going to get a lot of responses to this one, but to me, if you are a real basketball fan, then you would know that at times Melo cripples this offense. During the time when the Knicks were winning half of that success came with the unbelievable volume of 3-point shooting. Now that teams are defending the perimeter better against the Knicks the team solely relies on Melo to create opportunities for everyone else. He simply is too much for an isolation player that does not work well in a motion offense. JR Smith has been the only steadfast that has been able to thrive offensively with Melo on the court. I am by no means saying that the Knicks win without him; I am just simply stating that the Knicks go as far as Melo can take them, bottom line.
2. Miami Heat
Everybody got fooled earlier this season when the Knicks opened up against the Heat and beat them and then went into Miami and had an out of body experience of a shooting night and beat LeBron and D- Wade without Melo. Now that we have drank that Kool-Aid we can piss it out of our system. Carmelo is NOT LeBron and the Knicks are NO match for the Miami Heat. I see LeBron James to Carmelo Anthony as I see Michael Jordan to Patrick Ewing…..ouch!!!
1. Amare Stoudemire
Can we please stop saying that Amare was the first free agent to want to take on the task of bringing the Knicks back when he signed. He was not going to get the money from anyone else that year. The Knicks were Stoudemire’s consolation prize and they gave him the infamous “Allan Houston Deal”. For a guy that is hurt as often and comes off the bench, counting that much against the cap cripples the Knicks flexibility until his contract expires. He does not give enough to the Knicks offense. Yeah I know he averages 16 points but if you really watch the games closely much of those points are meaningless.
Sorry Knick fans, not this year.
