New York, NY- In another story that has been reported by the New York Daily News’ own, Manish Mehta, it seems all but certain that the New York Jets will be moving All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis “in the coming days for the right price.” According to several sources, the Jets have already received a handful of offers. The problem, as I stated in my article yesterday that spoke of the Eagles as a possible landing spot, is are teams willing to fork over too much for a player coming off an injury and will the Jets balk if they do not get the right offer?
The issue for the Jets remains that if a trade cannot be made, they run the risk of having Revis walk on his own after this year. They also are not sure what type they will get out of Revis based on the knee injury recovery. Revis seems to be stuck in pre Madonna purgatory with the mindset of wanting it his way and his way only based on who he plays with and how much he plays for.
It seems that this is going to play out, perhaps in an ugly way, but it will play out somehow, as all signs are pointing to the secession of Revis Island from New York.
