Denver, CO- Nuggets 117, Knicks 94– Its official, Mike Woodson smokes something while applying Just for Men to his goatee before every game. I am assuming that he wanted to give the city of Denver to see their former Love Child on the basketball court again. Well it turns out that the Knicks not only got whooped for the second night in a row, but Melo limped off the court in the third quarter and Tyson Chandler needed to be assisted off the court after colliding with former Knick Corey Brewer.
The game just never seemed that close as the Knicks were down 22 at half and were down by 34 entering the fourth. Former Knick and component of the trade that sent Melo to New York, Wilson Chandler had a game high 24 points.
I talked a bit yesterday about how Melo may have needed his knee drained and it came to fruition with the All Star Forward returning to New York for the procedure. Mike Woodson has continued to exhaust his rotation with allowing Melo to even play. I went on the record on Monday suggesting that Woodson may have punched his ticket to be pushed off of the top of the scoreboard at MSG. The Knicks next opponent is the Portland Trailblazers in the Raymond Felton Reunion Party.
Philadelphia, PA –
Heat 98, 76ers 94 Count it 20 in a row for the Miami Heat, as they were able to stave off a fourth quarter comeback by the reeling Philadelphia 76ers. Doug Collins may be back in the broadcast booth after this season, as the 76ers who put the world into Andrew Bynum, just can’t seem to find any consistency. Doug Collins can’t keep using effort as an motivator because it apparently is not working.
The walking freak of nature, LeBron James, scored 37 and Dwayne Wade chipped in 21 for the Heat. The Heat look to continue their win streak tomorrow against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Atlanta, GA- Hawks 96, Lakers 92
Just when we thought the Los Angeles Lakers were in the midst of getting off the snide, Kobe Bryant went dow with what appears to be a sprained ankle, with 17 seconds remaining in the game. He is listed as out indefinitely the Lakers are saying. Bryant was able to lead the Lakers back after trailing most of the game but Kyle Korver was able to sink two clutch free throws to preserve the win for the Hawks. Bryant had 31 in the loss.
Los Angeles, CA- Grizzlies 96, Clippers 85 Rudy Gay who? The Memphis Grizzlies continued their consistent season with a convincing win over the Los Angeles Clippers last night in LA. The Grizzlies defensive tenacity put the clamps on Lob City in the second half to get a statement win in which could be a potential playoff matchup down the line.
