Kansas City, MO- As I mentioned earlier today, during “Football Breakfast”, Matt Cassel has been released by the Kansas City Chiefs. After leading the New England Patriots to an 11-5 record in 2008, after Tom Brady’s knee injury, Cassel signed a lucrative deal with the Chiefs. it turns out that he was never able to replicate that season for the Chiefs, who recently hired Andy Reid as their Head Coach and traded for former San Francisco 49er quarterback, Alex Smith. Cassel will have plenty of opportunities out there to be at least a back up quarterback. The early candidates to land Cassel are said to be the Bears or Vikings.
