Portland, OR- Trailblazers 105, Knicks 90 First of all the Knicks will never turn things around if Iman Shumpert does not realize that his flat top is not helping his game. The New York Knicks continued their recent road trip by falling to the Portland Trailblazers.
To add insult to injury the Knicks were actually ahead midway thru the 2nd quarter but fell apart and went into halftime down 3. When the 3rd quarter ended it looked as if the Knicks stayed in the visiting team’s locker room at half, as the Blazers built a 16 point lead. The bright spotr for the Knicks was that JR Smith had another great shooting night and put up a game high 33 points in defeat. Rookie, Damian Lillard of the Trailblazers scored a team-high 26 points to go along with 10 assist and 1 turnover.
The Knicks look as if they are home sick and will attempt to end their losing streak against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday (yeah right). The Knickerbockers played without the services of Tyson Chandler, who is out indefinitely with a knee injury he suffered against Denver on Wednesday night.
San Antonio, TX- Spurs 92, Mavericks 91 The San Antonio Spurs edged the Dallas Mavericks last night by 1 in the Texas rivalry last night. Tim Duncan turned back the clock and put up a monster 28 points and 19 rebounds.
The Spurs clinched a playoff spot with last nights win, which makes 16 straight playoff appearances. The Mavericks were in the midst of a 4 game winning streak that was snapped after Vince Carter missed a potential game winning jump shot from the top of the key.
