New York, NY- Revis Island, for now, still resides right off the tip of the city that never sleeps. There have been ramped speculation about the New York Jets trading Darrell Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which I think still will happen. A week ago at the NFL meeting in Arizona, head coach Rex Ryan went on record to say that the team is “not actively trying to trade Revis”, for whatever the heck that means. The fact of the matter is when will this deal get done.
It seems that the Jets are up to their old tricks about being as wishy washy as possible when it comes to the status of players (i.e.. Mark Sanchez, Santonio Holmes, Tim Tebow). I mentioned in my “Jets Rhetoric” column a few days ago, that the Jets need to be real with sometimes and just make the moves that they are destined to make instead of always trying to draw things out.
Once Darrelle Revis is traded, this thing may possibly go totally spiraling out of control. Where is the loyalty? I am speaking of both parties. If there isn’t any then just let this thing be done. Alex Welch of SB Nation seems to agree with me when speaking about this thing dragging out. Peter King of Sports Illustrated also agrees that the its possible that Revis gets traded before the draft. The bottom line is lets move on the other football business and get this thing done.
