New York, NY- I remember a famous philosopher wrote an article on how the Knicks had the edge against the celtics. if Saturday afternoon was any indication of how the series would go then I would assume that great philosopher was right. Saturday was a “grind it out” game that typically the Knicks would not have won. Here is why I say this. The Knicks did not play pretty basketball after the first quarter. Their jump shots went flat and JR Smith did not have his typical sixth man of the year performance that his usually does. The difference in the game was the Knicks’ intensity on defense, which caused the Celtics to turn the ball over possession after possession.
For a team that goes into offensive lulls, this was the type of game the Celtics needed to win in order to make this a series. Now I still believe that this will be a competitive series but only by the scores at the end of each game and not by how long the series will be. You can expect the Knicks to have at least one or two games that they will shoot lights out. Saturday wasn’t that game and that said a lot about the moxie of these Knicks that still propelled them to a win. Don’t think this is going past 5 folks.
